Parent Surveys
We need your help as part of a more formal Safe Routes to School (SRTS) program for 2009-2010.  SRTS is a National organization that gets its strength at the local and school level.  SRTS' Mission is to assist communities in enabling and encouraging children to safely walk and bike to school.  As such we need to make sure that all routes to school are safe for our children.   Part of this process is to actually survey the many routes that are taken and this is where your help is needed.  We need parents to make note of the safety issues and concerns that face our children as they walk and bike to school.   The links below are to a Parent Survey and a Walkability and a Bikabilitly Checklist to be used in order to collect data as part of an overall Wolftrap SRTS Travel Plan.

What is Safe Routes to School?

In keeping with Wolftrap's interest in its children's health, Wolftrap is adopting a Safe Routes to School ( www.saferoutesinfo.org )program. Safe Routes to School is a national and international movement to create safe, convenient, and fun opportunities for children to bicycle and walk to school. Safe Routes to School provides a variety of important benefits to kids and their communities, including improved health, reduced traffic congestion, better air quality, and enhanced neighborhood safety. This movement is part of the solution for the alarming nationwide trend toward child obesity and inactivity.

To support this initiative the school has provided a bike rack.
