About Us

The Wolftrap Elementary Parent Teacher Association offers a hearty welcome to you and your family.  The PTA works in partnership with the school and is dedicated to promoting the welfare of children at home, at school, and in the community.  Our organization is made up of parents and teachers who are committed to securing the best possible education for all of our children.  We offer a wealth of information and resources to the new family. Please see our PTA President's Welcome Letter.

Here are a list of common questions that we can answer:

Why Join?

Where does my money go?

Where does any extra money go?

How do I join?

Why Join?

By joining the PTA, each member receives a hard copy directory usually in October. A portion of your money is given to the national PTA organization and the rest of your money stays here.

Where does my money go?

With your PTA membership and money that we receive during our fundraisers throughout the year, we are able to provide a well-rounded experience for your child including paying for their field trips, cultural art, assemblies, and keeping our grounds beautiful. A full list of our fundraisers are in the Orientation Book for New Families.

For more detail, this spreadsheet explains all of our income and expenses to date.

Where does the extra money go at the end of the school year?

At the end of the school year, we receive the teachers' wish list.  Last year, our PTA bought SmartBoards for the rest of the classrooms and books needed in the library and Reading Room.

How do I join?

Each September, you are invited to fill out the Membership and Fundraiser form.  If you arrive mid-year, unfortunately, your PTA membership from your previous school does not transfer here.

After you finished, see the Parent Check list.
